Layoffs at Microsoft affected the gaming division

On January 18, Microsoft confirmed that it would lay off 10,000 people. As it became known to the media, among others, developers from Bethesda, 343 Industries and The Coalition were reduced.

Exactly how many people will be fired from game studios is not reported. According to journalist Jason Schreier, at least the 343 Industries team was seriously injured. In particular, Joseph Staten, creative director of Halo Infinite, is leaving the studio — he is leaving for Xbox Publishing. Halo Infinite senior designer Kevin Schmitt and video content producer Jesse Stipek also wrote about their dismissal on Twitter.
