The first gaming trade union will appear in Australia — Game Workers Australia

Officially, the union should start working this weekend. But already 360 people are included in it — this is a little more than a quarter of the country’s developers. Judging by the press release of the union, among them is Mitch McCausland, producer of Featherweight Games studio, but the names and companies of other members are not disclosed.

Game Workers Australia said it would stand up for fair working conditions. For example, he seeks to raise the salary of freelancers. The trade union also wants to try to develop an agreement on collective remuneration for full-time employees of the country’s gaming companies.
