Since the first of December, Square Enix has been transferring employees to remote work on a permanent basis
Square Enix will launch a special program that will allow you to transfer most of the employees to permanent remote work without loss of efficiency. The company plans to adapt to the realities of the “new world” and make remote access a new standard.The Japanese publisher will divide all employees into remote (at least three times a week they work from home) and office (at least three times a week they work from the office).
The new rules will apply to both ordinary employees and those who hold senior positions.
The start of the program is scheduled for December. Square Enix hopes that in the first month about 80% of employees will switch to work from home. At the same time, once a month, each employee will be able to change his status and return to the office for a while, if his duties require it.
According to the publisher, these actions are not just a response to the pandemic. Square Enix wants this program to become the new standard for the company’s work in the future. By combining remote and office work models, the publisher plans to increase the productivity and creativity of employees, as well as keep security at a high level.
Square Enix developed this program based on a survey conducted in July. According to its results, 80% of the company’s staff were not against switching to remote.
