Layoffs took place in Jam City
On Friday, layoffs took place in the California company Jam City. The developer did not name the exact number of those dismissed, but an anonymous VentureBeat source claims that “a significant part of employees” lost their positions.
According to the publication, mass layoffs affected Jam City offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego. Jam City itself has issued an official statement, according to which “organizational changes” and “reallocation of resources” are taking place in the company. The company added that all dismissed employees were paid severance payments.
Before the cuts, she had 650 employees on her staff. Just last week, developers from Uken Games joined the new Jam City studio in Toronto – 42 people, according to Uken CEO Chris Ye.
In addition, in November, Jam City entered into a long-term partnership with Disney and announced the takeover of Glendale Games Studio, the authors of Disney Emoji Blitz. As a result, Jam City’s staff has been replenished with 43 more employees.
