Developer of Angry Birds Go! fired 60% of the employees in his studio

Oxford Exient, known for Angry Birds Go!, in March reduced 60% of the working staff in its studio in the town of Royal Leamington Spa (an hour by car from Oxford and two from London).

It is unclear if the company still has production studios. Now the remaining employees in Leamington support Dancing with the Stars, Angry Birds Transformers and Angry Birds Go!.

The cuts are explained by the company’s management by an excess of labor for existing projects.

The company’s latest project was released in March last year. It was Dancing with the Stars, a mobile game branded as an American show, whose Russian version was branded as Dancing with the Stars.

The main hit of Exient is the joint development of Angry Birds Go! with Rovio, which has gained more than 100 million downloads. Prior to working with Rovio, the company produced sports simulators for Sony and Nintendo portable consoles.

In January, it became known about the beginning of the formation of Rovio‘s new studio in London.
