The design of the Steam library has been updated

The Steam library has changed its appearance. Public testing of the new design has begun in the store.

Recall the innovations in beta.

  • The library page has been completely redesigned. Most of it is now occupied by the covers of games, including those published and recently launched. The user can not only set the size of each cover, but also fill in their own (not all developers have designed game pages according to the new standard).

  • Games are easily sorted into collections with automatically generated covers. Inside each collection, you can filter titles alphabetically, time in the game, release date, etc. It is possible to create a dynamic collection that will be updated automatically using filters.

  • The activity of not only the user, but also his friends is now visible on the pages of purchased games. Including the achievements received. A separate panel with the actions of friends has been added to the library itself.

  • The “What’s new” section has appeared at the top of the library. It contains notifications about all events and news related to the user’s games. By the way, Valve has updated the event creation tools for developers. And expanded the possibilities of showing them. Read more here and here.

  • Also added advanced search: single, cooperative, MMO; development status; genre and supported devices, as well as tags (keywords).

All these innovations become available if you select the Steam Beta Update option in the Steam settings (Account -> Beta Testing).

Note that other sections of Steam (Store, Community, Friends, Player profiles) have not changed.
