Disney: revenue from games is falling, but profits are growing
Profits from Disney games have grown, despite the fact that revenue has fallen, according to the Venturebeat resource.
Revenue from games in the first fiscal quarter, which ended on December 27 for the company, amounted to $384 million, which is $19 million lower than in the same period last year. Operating profit reached $75 million, which is $20 million more than in the first quarter of 2014.
The quarter turned out to be profitable thanks to the company's two match-3 titles: Disney's Tsum Tsum and Frozen Free Fall.
Profits in the mobile sector partially offset the company's losses in the console gaming sector. The latter are explained by increased marketing costs and the increased price per user against the background of a decrease in the number of sales of goods in the Infinity game.
