Electronic Arts' profit for the first quarter was $1.04 billion

Electronic Arts company published a press release yesterday, in which it shared the results of its work for the first quarter of 2013. The company’s profit amounted to $1.04 billion, while the mobile application segment accounted for $104 million.

EA managed to show such impressive results due to the sales of already well-known brands. For example, Battlefield 3 brought the company $ 120 million, and the number of subscribers was 3.5 million, a fifth of Sim City sold 1.6 million copies. The most successful project turned out to be the FIFA 2013 football simulator. As many as 14.5 million copies were sold, the digital version of the game earned $ 200 million for Electronic Arts, and a total of $350 million in sales.

And although the share of revenue from mobile app sales did not show such dizzying results, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen said that the company intends to focus on mobile app development due to the rapid growth of the market. At the moment, EA can already boast of The Simpsons: Tapped Out and Real Racing 3. The total number of downloads was 13 million, and the number of active users reaches 5.4 million daily.
