HTC sales are falling

According to the Taiwanese company HTC over the past quarter, the popularity of its devices continues to roll down.

The sales figure for July of this year, compared to the same period last year, decreased by 45%. Thus, since the beginning of the year, HTC’s smartphone sales profit has decreased by a third, amounting to only $6 billion (in the first 7 months of 2011, smartphone sales brought the company $9.1 billion).

The release of a new line of One devices did not save the company’s position either. The company’s profit for the second quarter decreased by 60%. According to analysts, the situation will not change by the third quarter. This can be explained by the high popularity of Samsung’s flagship smartphones, which are actively displacing other players from the premium Android market. So, Samsung Galaxy S III dragged over the sales of HTC One X.

Will the new HTC One X+ smartphone with a 5-inch Full HD display be able to turn the situation around? We’ll find out in the fall.
