Sales of Probably Stolen exceeded 200,000 copies just hours after release, setting a record for tinyBuild
The cyberpunk shop owner simulator Probably Stolen sold more than 200,000 copies just a few hours after its release on Steam. This was reported by Questing Goose Studio, the developer of the game, with the support of publisher tinyBuild.
Probably Stolen was released on October 28, 2026. By the evening of the same day, the developers announced that they had reached the 200,000 copies sold mark.
Additionally, the game set a record for peak concurrent players among tinyBuild projects. According to SteamDB, just an hour and a half after its release, more than 86,000 people were playing Probably Stolen simultaneously. The maximum number reached was 86,099 players.
At launch, Probably Stolen also climbed to second place in the global chart of the highest-grossing games on Steam. The first reviews were predominantly positive: at the time of the developers' statistics release, 95% of users recommended the game, with over 400 reviews submitted.
Notably, by its release, Probably Stolen had accumulated 500,000 wishlists. The team announced reaching this milestone on October 27, a day before the game's release. Additionally, the developers actively utilized playtests and demo versions. More than 100,000 people participated in the open testing of the project, and the demo was among the most popular at the October Steam Next Fest.
Recall, on October 19, App2Top.ru reported that tinyBuild projects had accumulated over 4 million wishlists over three months. At that time, the Gamalytic service estimated the number of additions of Probably Stolen to wishlists at 465,000.
Probably Stolen is a trading simulator set on a space station in a dystopian world. Players have to manage a store, purchase and resell goods, including contraband, interact with different factions, and earn money to pay off debts.
The game is available only on PC. Its standard price on Steam is $19.99, but a 10% discount is available at launch. The developers have not disclosed the revenue from Probably Stolen yet.
It should be noted that Probably Stolen is not the first successful release by tinyBuild in 2026. Earlier, the publisher announced the sale of 500,000 copies of ReStory: Chill Electronics Repairs in a month and a half. In September, Graveyard Keeper 2 sold 400,000 copies in just two days, and in June, SAND: Raiders of Sophie earned $1 million in the first 12 hours and surpassed 200,000 sold copies in a week.
