Krafton's Q2 revenue surged by 94.9% to reach $889.1 million, primarily due to the successful performance of the Subnautica and PUBG franchises

Krafton reported unprecedented growth in the second quarter, with revenues jumping by 94.9% to ₩1.29 trillion (equivalent to $889.1 million), alongside a 67% surge in operating profits to ₩410.9 billion ($283.1 million).
The company credits this exceptional performance to the success of Subnautica 2 by Unknown Worlds and the persistent growth of the PUBG series. Subnautica 2, which entered Early Access in May, quickly achieved over five million sales in just 22 days. The franchise, including Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero, generated revenues of ₩232.5 billion ($160.2 million) in the first half of the year.
Meanwhile, Krafton resolved a legal conflict with former leaders of Unknown Worlds, agreeing to pay a $250 million bonus. More details on this legal case are available here.
PUBG's revenue increased by 25% year-on-year as Krafton expands the franchise by developing a core gameplay platform and engaging in cultural collaborations with other brands.
Significant growth was noted in PC revenues, exceeding ₩500 billion ($344.4 million) for the first time. Console revenues saw a dramatic 143.3% year-over-year increase, reaching ₩23.8 billion ($16.3 million), while mobile revenues rose slightly by 5.5% to ₩451 billion ($310.7 million).
Looking towards the future, Krafton plans to unveil five new games at Gamescom, all slated for release by 2027. These will include a new PUBG IP project along with titles like No Law, Project Zeta, Age Twisters, and Tarae: The Unbound.
Earlier announcements this year indicated Krafton has 26 games in the works, with 12 scheduled to launch within the next two years.
"Our focus will remain on Krafton's primary gaming activities as we transition to executing new game productions," stated Krafton CEO CH Kim. "By expanding the PUBG IP as a content platform, we will start developing new franchise IPs through our upcoming title pipeline and creative leadership."
