In 2025, the revenue of EGBA members from iGaming exceeded 18 billion euros
The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) released a report for the past year. According to the document, the combined gross revenue of the organization's members from iGaming increased by 34% year-on-year to €18 billion, despite enhanced tax burdens and regulatory restrictions in several markets.
As calculated by the EGBA, 30% of this amount was attributed to only nine major iGaming operators.
Online casinos contributed 48% of the total gross revenue, sports betting accounted for another 46%, and online poker made up 3%. Notably, 63% of the sports betting revenue was generated from bets placed before events began.
EGBA also reported that by the end of 2025, its members had 401 licenses to operate in 22 jurisdictions, which is a 25% increase from the end of 2024. Over the past year, they accepted bets totaling €275.3 billion—28% more compared to 2024.
Additionally, it is noted that in 2025, payouts to players increased by 27% to €257.3 billion. The Return to Player (RTP) rate decreased from 93.7% to 93.4%, while the overall operating margin rose from 6.3% to 6.6%.
