Media: Entain is exploring the possibility of selling its business in Central and Eastern Europe

Gambling holding Entain is considering strategic options for its business in Central and Eastern Europe. This was reported by Reuters citing three sources.

According to Reuters, the company is contemplating restructuring amid increasing online gambling taxes in the United Kingdom. In April, the country's authorities raised tax rates for online casinos and slot machines from 21% to 40%, and for betting from 15% to 25%. Entain estimates that these changes could lead to an increase in annual expenses by approximately 200 million pounds (264.3 million dollars) in its case.

One of the options being considered is reportedly the sale of Entain's entire stake in the joint venture Entain CEE to EMMA Capital. The parties are already in negotiations, but they are at an early stage, and there is no guarantee of a deal.
