Key Performances
The company's annual figures displayed substantial improvement in net revenue and bookings. However, for the last quarter ending March 31, growth was modest with a 6% rise in net revenue and flat net bookings year-on-year.
The firm indicated that net bookings from recurrent consumer spending rose by 7%, comprising 82% of total net bookings. Mobile spending increased 7%, and Grand Theft Auto Online noted a 5% rise.
In the 2026 fiscal year, mobile platforms contributed to half of Take-Two's net revenue, while consoles accounted for 11%, and PCs and other platforms made up 39%.
In a statement prepared for investors, CEO Strauss Zelnick highlighted NBA 2K's success, with the franchise achieving "record net bookings and recurrent consumer spending," the latter increasing by 10%. NBA 2K26 has shipped 10 million copies thus far.
Additionally, Zynga, a company acquired by Take-Two in 2022 for $12.7 billion, reported its highest net bookings since the acquisition, boosted by games like Toon Blast, Match Factory, and Empires and Puzzles.
Grand Theft Auto continues to surpass projections, contributing significantly to net bookings with a 5% boost in player spending over the past year.
Looking ahead to the fiscal year 2027, Zelnick stated that Grand Theft Auto 6 will lead to "new record levels of operational performance".
"We aim to maintain this increased scale, generate robust cash flows, and provide long-term value for shareholders as we release new projects, enhance our live services, and explore new business ventures,” Zelnick added.
In his address to shareholders, Zelnick forecasted that fiscal year 2027 is set to be "a transformational year" for the company.
Projections for 2027 suggest net bookings of $8 billion to $8.2 billion, with net revenue expected to range between $7.9 billion and $8.1 billion. Meeting the lower end would indicate a 27.4% increase from the previous year, while the upper end would reflect a 30.6% gain.
In a conversation with GamesIndustry.biz, Zelnick emphasized the importance of their mobile division, noting it constitutes roughly half of their business. "This might change this fiscal year due to obvious reasons, but overall, mobile represents about half our business, matching well with territories like India and Africa where smartphones dominate over PCs and consoles."
