Record profit for the ninth consecutive year — and more from Capcom’s report
The Japanese company Capcom released its report for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026. In the document, it boasted new records.
Resident Evil Requiem
- Capcom reported that its net sales for the year reached an all-time high of 195.3 billion yen ($1.24 billion), a 15.2% increase compared to the previous year.
- Operating profit grew by 14.5% to 75.3 billion yen ($477 million), and net profit increased by 12.7% to 54.5 billion yen ($345.8 million).
- According to Capcom’s reports, the company has set a revenue record for five consecutive years, and has achieved record profits across all categories for nine consecutive years.
- This growth can be attributed to Capcom’s flagship release in the past fiscal year — Resident Evil Requiem. Additionally, games from the back catalog contributed significantly.
- Overall, Capcom sold 59.07 million game copies over the year, which is 13.9% more compared to the previous year.
- 93% of the copies were sold digitally — 54.5% on PC and 38.5% on consoles.
- The largest markets for Capcom were the USA, Canada, China, the UK, Germany, Japan, Brazil, and Mexico — in each of these countries, the company sold over a million copies of its games (countries are listed in random order, not by increasing or decreasing share. — Editor’s note).
- As of March 31, 2026, total sales of games in the Resident Evil series had reached 201 million copies, making it Capcom’s best-selling franchise. Monster Hunter ranks second with 127 million copies, and Street Fighter rounds out the top three with 59 million copies.
- In the current fiscal year, Capcom aims to continue its record-breaking streak and forecasts further revenue growth. It anticipates net sales of 210 billion yen ($1.33 billion) and a net profit of 58 billion yen ($367 million).
