The success of Crimson Desert has led to a profit increase of several times — Pearl Abyss quarterly report

The South Korean company Pearl Abyss has reported its earnings for the first quarter of 2026. It announced that its main source of revenue this time was Crimson Desert, even though the game was released at the very end of the period: its launch occurred on March 19, while the quarter ended on March 31.

Crimson Desert

According to Pearl Abyss, Crimson Desert managed to earn 266.5 billion won ($178.86 million) during its debut one and a half weeks — this accounted for 81% of the company's quarterly revenue. The remaining 19% was brought in by Black Desert. Remarkably, Crimson Desert's earnings were evenly split between platforms — 50% on PC and 50% on consoles.

Thanks to the excellent start of Crimson Desert, the company achieved strong growth in all its key indicators compared to the previous year:

  • Pearl Abyss’s revenue increased by 419.8% to 328.5 billion won ($220.5 million);
  • operating profit rose by 2584.8% to 212.1 billion won ($142.3 million);
  • net profit climbed by 2107.8% to 170 billion won ($114 million).

It should be noted that earlier Pearl Abyss had paid bonuses to all company employees in honor of Crimson Desert's success. Each employee received an additional 5 million won ($3,400). Considering the game's earnings, this act of generosity quickly paid off.
