G5 Store has become the main revenue channel — and more from G5 Entertainment's report

The company G5 Entertainment also released its financial report. It summarized the first quarter of 2026, which turned out to have mixed results.

Jewels of Egypt

  • At the start of 2026, G5's revenue reached $21.7 million. Compared to the first quarter of 2025, it dropped by 11%.
  • As explained by the company, a significant portion of its income comes from games such as Sherlock, Hidden City, and the Jewels series, but all of them earned less than usual this time. Jewels was particularly hard hit, with its series revenue declining by 23% year-on-year.
  • The G5 Store consistently generated more revenue for G5 than the App Store and Google Play. By the end of the quarter, sales in the G5 Store increased by 1.3%.
  • G5 also noted that in the past quarter, direct sales (D2C) accounted for 11% of its mobile game revenue. Back in October-December 2025, it was only 5.4%.
  • G5's gross profit fell by 7% to $15.8 million. However, its gross margin reached a record high for the company at 72.7%. The company achieved this record due to the shift towards D2C, allowing G5 to save on store commissions.
  • The MAU for G5's games decreased by 13% to 3.6 million people, and the DAU dropped by 17% to 1.1 million people. The number of unique paying players decreased by 19% to 98.8 thousand per month.
