Remedy Entertainment shared its latest financial results, indicating a "profitable first quarter" in anticipation of its upcoming release, Control Resonant.

This quarter marks a significant change in leadership, as Jean-Charles Gaudechon, a former VP at Electronic Arts, took on the role of CEO on March 1, 2026.

Financial Overview

  • Revenue: €13.1 million, reflecting a 1.9% decrease
  • Operating profit: €1 million, a 23% decline from €1.3 million in the same period the previous year

Despite reductions in revenue and operating profit, Remedy's gaming lineup experienced stability.

Sales and royalties were buoyed by higher publishing for Control, increased royalties from Alan Wake 2, and income from FBC: Firebreak subscription deals.

The 2019 title Control recorded a rise in year-over-year sales, bolstered by promotions and increased awareness from Resonant. Its lifetime sales have surpassed six million copies.

Alan Wake 2's royalties surged after its availability, alongside Alan Wake Remastered, on Amazon Luna, resulting in "platform-deal royalties."

Although FBC: Firebreak fell short of internal sales expectations, it remains "live and playable," with minimal maintenance costs.

Development fees saw a decrease but still constituted a majority of the revenue, largely from Resonant and the remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2.

Efforts in the initial quarter concentrated on the marketing strategy for Resonant, which is set for release later this year.

The company also noted that this game supports eight audio languages, such as Chinese and Brazilian Portuguese, making it their most localized title so far.

CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon expressed confidence in Remedy's direction, stating, "Since stepping into the CEO role, my conviction in Remedy's vision and future potential has only grown stronger."

Gaudechon remarked, "This year is crucial for Remedy, and we’ve started well. We reported a profitable first quarter, our games met market expectations, and we are progressing steadily with development projects. Ensuring a successful launch of Control Resonant in 2026 is our foremost goal."

He added, "In an unpredictable and crowded marketplace, Remedy's unique approach to narrative and gameplay, its proprietary Northlight engine, the Remedy Connected Universe, and our distinct voice in the industry distinguish us.

"Moreover, we boast a studio with exceptional talent and a history of delivering award-winning games efficiently. Our studio's size aligns with our future plans, with execution now being the primary focus."

Gaudechon concluded, "Remedy's essence is rooted in a creative culture nurtured for over 30 years. Preserving and strengthening this ethos is vital to our value creation and will be my main priority as the CEO."
