Revenue and profit set a new record — key points from KOEI Tecmo's annual report
The Japanese holding KOEI Tecmo, whose portfolio includes popular game series such as Nioh, Ninja Gaiden, Dynasty Warriors, and many others, reported for the last fiscal year, covering the period from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026.
Nioh 3
- The past year was very successful for KOEI Tecmo. In its report, the holding announced revenue of 88.4 billion yen ($555 million), the best result in its history. Compared to the previous year, revenue increased by 6.3%. Initially, however, KOEI Tecmo expected an even higher figure, but those expectations were not met.
- Net profit for KOEI Tecmo also reached a record high — 42.8 billion yen ($269 million), with a growth of 13.8%. Notably, unlike the revenue, the final profit figure significantly exceeded the holding's forecast.
- KOEI Tecmo explains that these records were largely achieved due to the strong start of new games. In the past fiscal year, the holding released, among others, Nioh 3, Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake, and Ninja Gaiden 4. Additionally, its studio Omega Force was involved in the development of the well-received Pokémon Pokopia.
- The majority of KOEI Tecmo's gaming revenue came from console and PC games — 46.9 billion yen ($295 million, +18.7%).
- Mobile games from KOEI Tecmo earned 34 billion yen ($216 million, -8.5%).
- Throughout the year, the holding sold 14.1 million game copies, an increase of 84.8% compared to the previous year. Most of the purchases were made in North America (4.27 million copies) and Japan (4.19 million copies).
- Annual downloads of KOEI Tecmo's mobile games reached 171.4 million (+3.4%).
- As of March 31, 2026, KOEI Tecmo employed 2,835 people, an increase of 151 employees over the year.
