Sales of NieR: Automata have exceeded 10 million copies
Square Enix shared the achievements of the project, while hinting that the franchise's story will continue. In what form — it's still unclear.
It took nine years for NieR: Automata to reach the milestone of 10 million copies sold. During this time, Square Enix released the mobile spin-off Reincarnation and a remaster of the first NieR.
NieR: Automata was released on February 23, 2017, in Japan, with its global release occurring in March. Here's the timeline of its sales:
- 1.5 million copies — May 2017;
- 4 million copies — May 2019;
- 5 million copies — March 2020;
- 7 million copies — November 2022;
- 9 million copies — December 2024;
- 10 million copies — February 2026.
Separately, Square Enix announced that sales of Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139… exceeded 2 million copies.
