Starbreeze Entertainment revealed its financial performance for 2025, showing an increase in revenue from SEK 185.9 million ($20.5 million) to SEK 221 million ($24.5 million).
The developer behind the Payday series reported a 10.7% decrease in sales for the fourth quarter.

For the three months ending December 31, 2025
- Net sales: SEK 41.1 million ($4.5 million), down by 10.7%
- Net loss: SEK 61.9 million ($6.8 million), an improvement from SEK 167.9 million ($18.6 million) in the prior year
For the entire year ending December 31, 2025
- Net sales: SEK 221 million ($24.5 million), showing an 18.8% increase
- Net loss: SEK 402.7 million ($44.6 million), up from SEK 317.7 million ($35.2 million) in 2024
The highlights
According to CEO Adolf Krist Jansson, the last quarter was termed a "period of steady execution."
Jansson mentioned that their objectives included stabilizing the business, fulfilling commitments, and preparing for sustainable growth.
During Q4, revenue from Payday 2 grew by 43.6% year-over-year to SEK 14.8 million ($1.6 million), whereas Payday 3 revenue fell by 45.5% year-over-year to SEK 8 million ($887,385).
Jansson highlighted the Payday 3 team's consistent updates, aiming to bolster trust with players and the community. Payday 2 surpassed expectations, attributed to collaboration with an external development team.
Revenue from third-party publishing was SEK 0.6 million ($66,497), a decrease from SEK 15.4 million ($1.7 million) last year.
Starbreeze announced plans to adjust costs, focusing on the work-for-hire segment.
Jansson stated, "Adjustments align our organization with demand while supporting our ambition to build a simpler, more predictable, and financially resilient company."
Reports stated Starbreeze recently conducted layoffs in January, with affected employees sharing experiences on social media.
In October, the company made staff reductions affecting 33 employees following the cancellation of its title codenamed Project Baxter.
Throughout 2025, Payday 2 generated SEK 221 million ($24.4 million), and Payday 3 brought in SEK 50.1 million ($5.5 million), both increasing approximately 20% from prior years.
For third-party publishing, revenue was SEK 15.4 million ($1.7 million), down from SEK 47.7 million ($5.2 million) in 2024.
Jansson concluded, "The decisions made throughout 2025 have enhanced the company's focus, strengthened execution, and improved predictability."
