The developers from the Canadian team Maison Bap reported that YAPYAP took only a week to hit the half-million sales mark. The game was released on February 3rd.
"There are far more of you [players] than we expected. Honestly, it’s incredible," stated Maison Bap.
YAPYAP also has a great reception. Currently, it holds a "Very Positive" rating on Steam — with 81% of 2,600 reviews praising the game.
According to Steam Scout data, most of the reviews for YAPYAP are written in English (47.2%) and Russian (23.2%). Chinese reviews also make the top three with 8.5%.
It is worth noting that YAPYAP's success was anticipated. Earlier, Valve named its demo one of the most popular on Steam in 2025. According to rough estimates, the game approached its release with nearly 700,000 wishlists.
