Major Games of 2025: Top Rankings by Revenue, Sales, and MAU on PC, Consoles, and in Individual Countries

By gathering and analyzing data from various platforms, services, and analytical companies, we present a comprehensive final report featuring metrics on dozens of the most successful games of 2025. Inside — you’ll find numerous numbers and charts by specific platforms and countries.

This report covers:

  • Revenue of major 2025 releases on Steam: Battlefield 6, Monster Hunter Wilds, ARC Raiders, Split Fiction, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, etc.;
  • The number of titles earning more than a million dollars, and those surpassing 10 million dollars;
  • Top-selling games of 2025 on Steam: R.E.P.O., PEAK, Schedule I, Escape From Duckov, Dispatch, Hollow Knight: Silksong, etc.;
  • Top-grossing and best-selling new titles in the US and Europe across different platforms: EA Sports FC 26, NBA 2K26, and other long-standing franchises, along with the underwhelming performance of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Assassin’s Creed Shadows;
  • Biggest hits of 2025 in Japan: Mario Kart World, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Donkey Kong Bananza, Tamagotchi Plaza, etc.

To assess sales, revenue, and other metrics, we traditionally relied not only on official data from developers and publishers but also on information from third-party sources. These included Steam charts, GSD (Europe), GfK (UK retail), Circana (US), and Famitsu (Japanese retail), as well as data from analytical companies like Newzoo, GameDiscoverCo, VG Insights, Gamalytic, and Alinea Analytics.

It is worth noting that services individually may present inaccuracies. For example, VG Insights sometimes overestimates or underestimates revenue and sales estimates for specific games (especially indie releases). Therefore, when compiling charts, we focused on data from various platforms and aggregated it whenever possible.
