The revenue from mobile games worldwide is projected to hit $81.8 billion in 2025

According to the Sensor Tower's State of Mobile 2026 report, worldwide mobile gaming revenue in 2025 slightly increased to $81.8 billion, while consumer spending on non-game applications experienced dramatic growth, rising by 21% to $85.6 billion.
During 2025, no new games reached the $1 billion revenue milestone for the first time. However, CapCut, WeTV, and ChatGPT stood out, with ChatGPT achieving over $3 billion in in-app purchases. In total, 18 apps crossed the $1 billion revenue mark last year, evenly distributed between gaming and non-gaming categories. It's anticipated that Pokémon TCG Pocket will surpass this revenue figure in 2026.
The report highlights that casual and mid-core games remained top earners, while hybrid casual titles marked the largest surge in consumer spending, with a 17.1% increase from $3.5 billion to $4.2 billion.
Strategy games saw an uptick in downloads across regions like Asia, North America, and Europe. Notable performances in this category included Funfly's Last War: Survival and Century Games' Whiteout Survival. Globally, Last War: Survival and Whiteout Survival were among the highest-grossing games, along with Royal Match by Dream Games and Monopoly Go by Scopely.
Tencent topped the chart for in-app purchase (IAP) publisher earnings, generating close to $8 billion. It was followed by Scopely and Century Games in this ranking.
Roblox attracted 75% of all traffic to game publisher websites last year, with 90% of visits being direct and 5% resulting from organic searches. In contrast, Supercell's web portal saw the highest individual traffic volume, drawing approximately 1.5 billion visits.
