Sales of Fallout games experienced a surge during the Christmas period, coinciding with the release of a new television season.

The release of the second season of Amazon's show based on the Fallout series has led to a marked rise in sales during the holiday season. Video Game Insights highlighted substantial increases in both sales and user engagement across various platforms.
A significant uptick was reported in the daily sales figures for Fallout 4, which surpassed 12,000 units on December 29 across platforms like Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox. Fallout: New Vegas experienced a similar boost, reaching nearly 8,000 units on January 7, while Fallout 3 achieved 3,000 units sold.
Following the Christmas holidays, daily active users (DAUs) surged for Fallout 4 and Fallout 76. Xbox players, in particular, showed a massive increase, with Fallout 4 seeing a near 100,000 player peak in early January. When the second season started on December 16, Fallout 76—available via Game Pass—took the lead in DAUs.
As per Alinea's statistics, Steam recorded the highest number of returning DAUs, climbing from a weekly norm of 60,000 to a peak hitting 120,000 after the debut of the second season. The concurrent player count on Steam has notably increased since the second season's launch, moving from an average of 20,000 players to more than 40,000.
Overall, Alinea identified season two as a "significant catalyst for player engagement" for Fallout 76, with DAU figures rising from a pre-release level of 167,000 to peaking at 235,000 on December 30.
