The revenue of the Dead Island 2 development studio exceeded $21 million over the past year

This figure is mentioned in the report from Dambuster Studios to the British regulator. The document covers the period from April 2024 to March 2025.

The studio reported that compared to the previous year, its turnover increased slightly—just by 1%. However, gross profit rose more significantly. It increased by 4% to $19.5 million.

Dambuster Studios also noted that restructuring in its parent company, Embracer Group, did not affect the number of employees at the studio. At the end of March 2025, there were 194 employees—compared to 192 the previous year. Whether layoffs occurred in the following months or if the team remained relatively secure is not mentioned in the report.

Currently, Dambuster Studios is working on the next installment of Dead Island. The document confirms that this is indeed Dead Island 3, and the studio has even announced a tentative release window for the game. Developers plan to launch the third installment in the first or second quarter of 2028, that is, by July 2028. More precise information will become available closer to the event, and it is possible that the date might still change.
