It’s official now.

Battlestate Games announced on social media that they have surpassed the one million mark. While they did not specify, this number apparently includes all copies of Escape from Tarkov sold during the release month — both through Steam and the game’s own website.

The studio also reported that since its release, gamers have collectively spent 135 million hours playing the extraction shooter, equivalent to approximately 15.4 thousand years. Furthermore, about 500 players have managed to complete Escape from Tarkov and reach one of its endings.

Previously, it was reported through the VG Insights analytics service that Escape from Tarkov sold over a million copies on Steam alone in just a month. They also estimated the gross revenue of the Steam version to be $38.9 million. Given that VG Insights' sales figures were slightly overestimated, the actual revenue is likely less, but by how much remains unclear.

Escape from Tarkov was released on November 15, 2025, after eight years of beta testing.
