Valorant Mobile and Dying Light: The Beast helped Tencent increase its quarterly gaming revenue

The parade of financial reports continues. Next in line is the Tencent report for the third quarter of 2025, ending on September 30.

Dying Light: The Beast

  • In the document, the Chinese giant reported that this quarter was more successful than the third quarter of 2024. In particular, Tencent's revenue grew by 15% to 192.9 billion yuan ($27.12 billion), exceeding analysts' forecasts.
  • Tencent's net profit also increased—by 19% to 72.8 billion yuan ($10.24 billion).
  • Tencent's gaming division earned more during the quarter than any other segment, accounting for 33% of the company's revenue.
  • Game sales in China reached 42.8 billion yuan ($6 billion), 15% more than a year earlier. This success can be attributed to the continued popularity of Peacekeeper Elite (the Chinese version of PUBG), Honor of Kings, and Delta Force, as well as the successful release of Valorant Mobile. According to Tencent, the Riot Games title had the biggest launch in China among mobile newcomers in 2025 in terms of both revenue and daily audience.
  • International game sales jumped 43%, reaching 20.8 billion yuan ($2.92 billion). The key growth drivers here were titles from Supercell (especially Clash Royale) and the late-quarter release of Dying Light: The Beast. Additionally, games from some "recently acquired studios" contributed, though their names were not disclosed.
