The creators of Stellar Blade more than doubled their quarterly profit
The South Korean studio Shift Up has published its financial report for the third quarter of 2025, which spanned from July to September. Compared to 2024, all its key metrics have increased.
Stellar Blade
- The developers reported earning 75.5 billion won ($51.45 million) over three months, up 30.1% from 2024.
- The main revenue source this time was the gacha game Goddess of Victory: Nikke. It alone brought Shift Up 44.4 billion won ($30.3 million), a 29.9% year-over-year increase.
- Royalties from Stellar Blade sales amounted to 27.7 billion won ($18.9 million). Although they jumped 22.6% compared to last year, quarter-over-quarter, the game experienced a significant drop — down 57.9%. This decline is linked to the fact that in June 2025, Stellar Blade was released on PC, which then led to a record revenue surge, but over time, the hype subsided, and its sales returned to a more standard level.
- Shift Up's net profit increased by 132.6% to 54.6 billion won ($37.2 million). This is one of the best results in the studio’s history — at least since it began publishing financial reports. Shift Up reported a greater quarterly profit only from September to December 2024, when it earned 59.5 billion won ($40.6 million).
- Shift Up continues to work on its next game codenamed Project Spirits. Its release is tentatively planned for 2027 or later.
