Roblox Report: Revenue is skyrocketing, but so are losses
The Roblox platform reported its third-quarter results for 2025, ending on September 30. It announced that quarterly revenue exceeded expectations, but this did not save it from incurring losses.
- From June to September 2025, Roblox earned $1.36 billion—a 48% increase compared to the previous year. Net bookings grew even more significantly by 70% to $1.92 billion.
- Meanwhile, Roblox’s consolidated net loss reached $257.4 million, compared to a loss of $240.4 million a year ago.
- During the quarter, Roblox spent $427.9 million in payments to developers (+85%). Since the beginning of the year, it has already transferred over $1 billion to them, although it initially planned to pay that much no earlier than the end of December.
- The top 1000 most successful Roblox developers received an average of $1.1 million from the platform over the last 12 months. This is 40% more than a year ago.
- The average daily active users (DAU) of Roblox grew by 70% to 151.5 million people. The number of users older than 13 years increased especially strongly—their share among the daily audience now stands at 67%.
- The average number of monthly paying users reached 35.8 million. An increase of 88%.
- The growth in audience was largely thanks to the popularity of three games: Grow a Garden, Steal a Brainrot, and 99 Nights in the Forest. The peak online users of each were higher than the entire Roblox platform last year.
Investors were not entirely satisfied with Roblox’s quarterly results, despite its increased revenue and audience. Following the report’s release, the platform’s shares fell by 15.5% to $113 per share.
