Capcom has unveiled its financial performance for the first half of 2025, showing growth with net sales, operating profit, and net income rising by 53.7%, 90.8%, and 72.8% respectively.

The Japanese corporation credits this growth to increased sales of established series like Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4, bolstered by excitement for the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem, which is set to launch in February 2026.

Additionally, Street Fighter 6 has significantly boosted earnings, especially after its release on the Nintendo Switch 2 in June, alongside enhanced participation in esports.

The numbers

For the period ending September 30, 2025:

  • Net sales: ¥81.2 billion ($531.4 million), a 43.9% increase from the previous year
  • Operating profit: ¥81.1 billion ($530.7 million), an 89.8% increase from the previous year
  • Ordinary profit: ¥36.5 billion ($238.9 million), a 76.5% increase from the previous year
  • Net income: ¥27.5 billion ($179.9 million), up 80.1% from the previous year

The highlights

Within the company's Digital Contents segment, which includes video games, Capcom launched Capcom Fighting Collection 2, Onimusha 2, Street Fighter 6, and Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, drawing renewed interest from fans of these series. This pushed global sales for Street Fighter 6 beyond five million units.

The anticipation surrounding Resident Evil Requiem has positively impacted other Resident Evil games, and Devil May Cry 5 has seen substantial sales by implementing strategic pricing and benefiting from the enhanced visibility created by a television adaptation.

Regarding Monster Hunter, the continued sales of Monster Hunter Rise alongside Monster Hunter Wilds contributed to catalog titles nearing 22.85 million units, surpassing the previous year's 18.95 million units.

Altogether, Capcom's gaming segment experienced a 25.3% increase in net sales and a 52% rise in operating profit compared to the previous year.

The company also capitalized on the popularity of Street Fighter 6 in esports, exemplified by events like the Capcom Pro Tour 2025.

Capcom maintains its fiscal outlook for the year ending March 31, 2026.
