Electronic Arts' profits fell by more than half — and more from the company's quarterly report
Electronic Arts (EA) has released its quarterly report for the period ending September 30, 2025. This is one of its last reports — EA will no longer be required to publicly share financial data after it is acquired by a group of investors in 2026.
Battlefield 6
- EA reported a decline in revenue. Its quarterly revenue decreased by 9.2% year-over-year to $1.84 billion. Net bookings fell even further, by 13%, to $1.82 billion.
- Net profit for the quarter dropped by 53.4%, totaling $137 million.
- The company attributed the decline to the extraordinary success of EA Sports College Football 25 released last year, while the games launched between July and September 2025 performed less impressively.
- Live service games accounted for 66% of EA's revenue, or $1.22 billion.
- Regarding platform breakdown, consoles brought in the most revenue for EA — $1.21 billion, which is 12% less year-over-year. This was followed by PC ($352 million, -3%) and mobile ($275 million, -4%).
- EA is pleased with the debut of skate. (released at the end of the quarter) and Battlefield 6 (released after the reporting period). According to the company, the strong start of both games demonstrated the effectiveness of its long-term strategy. Notably, skate. was played by 15 million people in less than a month, and Battlefield 6 sold 7 million copies in three days.
