CD Projekt reported a 4.3% increase in its first-half profit, reaching $121 million

The first half of 2025 saw CD Projekt posting a 4.3% growth in sales revenue, reaching PLN 443 million (equivalent to $121 million), according to their financial report. Although revenue climbed, the company's net earnings slipped by 7.7% when compared to the same period in 2024, falling from PLN 170 million ($46.5 million) to PLN 155 million ($42.4 million).
The company credited its increase in sales to robust performance by Cyberpunk 2077 alongside its expansion, Phantom Liberty, while The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt remained a significant contributor. During this period, The Witcher 3 exceeded 60 million sales a decade post-launch, and Phantom Liberty reached 10 million copies sold within two years.
Piotr Nielubowicz, the CFO, remarked, "CD Projekt's revenue stream continues to be dominated by Cyberpunk 2077 together with its Phantom Liberty expansion." Nielubowicz noted ongoing investments, highlighting that spending on future project development surpassed PLN 240 million ($65 million) in the first half.
A noteworthy release was a special edition for the Nintendo Switch 2, which bolstered sales for this period. Of the total unit sales, 75.4% were physical copies, while 24.6% were digital downloads.
For the Nintendo Switch 2, Cyberpunk 2077's physical version uses a 64GB cartridge to enable a straightforward "plug and play" experience, as explained by Jan Rosner, CD Projekt's VP of business development. Rosner emphasized that despite the widespread digital shift, physical retail, especially for Nintendo, remains strong.
Providing insight into staff changes, CD Projekt reported an increase in their developer workforce. By late July 2025, their team expanded to 799, with the majority focusing on The Witcher 4, growing to 444 developers from 422. Meanwhile, Cyberpunk 2's development team also grew to 116, reflecting a broader company expansion to 1,248 employees by mid-2025, an 8.6% rise since the end of 2024.
