Nexon has reported its financial outcomes for the second quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year, noting results surpassed expectations despite declines across revenue, operating income, and net income compared to the previous year. The publisher highlighted ongoing vitality in its Maple Story and Dungeon & Fighter games throughout this period.

The combined Q2 earnings for Nexon's primary franchises, Dungeon & Fighter, Maple Story, and FC Online, experienced a 13% annual reduction. This drop is attributed to the expected downturn of Dungeon & Fighter Mobile, which was introduced in Q2 2024.

Financial Performance:

Key figures for Q2 2025:

  • Revenue: ¥118.9 billion ($804.7 million, a 3% decline from the previous year)
  • Operating income: ¥37.7 billion ($255.2 million, a 17% decline year-over-year)
  • Net income: ¥16.8 billion ($113.7 million, a 58% drop year-over-year)

Key Developments:

The First Descendant met expectations with its Q2 performance, and the upcoming launch of Season 3 on August 7 is projected to nearly triple its quarterly revenue in the subsequent quarter.

The success of The Finals exceeded the company's forecasts, credited to a well-received update in June, known as Season 7. The game also began its closed alpha testing phase in China earlier this month.

Following a successful technical test in May, ARC Raiders is gaining increased attention and anticipation. As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, the game currently ranks third globally on Steam's Top Wishlists chart and is scheduled for release on October 30.

Dungeon & Fighter showed a commendable recovery in the second quarter, achieving a revenue increase of approximately 67% compared to the same period last year; however, the overall franchise revenue saw a 40% decrease on a year-over-year basis due to the launch of its mobile version in Q2 2024. The expectation for the next quarter is a further 45% decline, with a possible counterbalance through a rise in PC sales.

Maple Story is achieving remarkable results, with its revenue increasing by 60% year-over-year, led by robust performance in Korea and the expansion of MapleStory Worlds. This trend is anticipated to continue into the next quarter, with projections indicating a 70% year-over-year growth.

Junghun Lee, Nexon's President and CEO, expressed optimism regarding the company's performance, highlighting the revival of key titles, creating momentum for recent launches, and expanding services in major global markets. Lee also expressed enthusiasm for the October 30 release of ARC Raiders, noting its notable position as the third most Wishlisted game on Steam worldwide.
