Tencent earned over 8 billion dollars from games in a quarter, which is a third of its total revenue
Tencent released its financial report for the second quarter of 2025, which ended on June 30th. The company reported growth in key metrics for both the entire holding and its gaming division.
Honor of Kings
- Tencent's total revenue reached 184.5 billion yuan ($25.7 billion), up 15% from the previous year.
- The holding's gross profit grew even more significantly—by 22% to 105 billion yuan ($14.63 billion). Net profit amounted to 64.8 billion yuan ($9 billion), an increase of 11%.
- Gaming contributed 32% of the Chinese giant's quarterly revenue this time. Tencent earned 59.2 billion yuan ($8.25 billion) from games.
- As usual, a large portion of Tencent's gaming revenue came from China. The sales of its games in the country totaled 40.4 billion yuan ($5.63 billion), up 17%. The main hits of the quarter were Delta Force, Honor of Kings, Peacekeeper Elite, and Valorant.
- Tencent's game sales in the international market rose by 35% to 18.8 billion yuan ($2.62 billion). This growth was driven by the release of Dune: Awakening and the continued success of PUBG Mobile and games from Supercell's portfolio.
