In 2024, the turnover of the Spanish gaming market exceeded 2.4 billion euros

This figure was reported by PocketGamer, citing an report from the Spanish Video Game Association (AEVI). Compared to 2023, the amount increased by 3%.

  • The growth can be attributed to the digital sales segment. Its revenue soared by 19.75% over the year, reaching 1.55 billion euros. Subscription sales showed the most significant increase, rising by 22.5% to 102 million euros.
  • The physical segment's revenue dropped by 18.11% to 850 million euros. This amount includes sales of gaming hardware (361 million euros, -22%), discs and cartridges with games (334 million euros, -25%), and accessories (155 million euros, -2.6%).
  • Over the year, 5.4 million game copies, 900.4 thousand consoles, and 3.01 million accessories were sold in Spain.
  • The number of gamers in the country is 22.1 million (+10.2%), which represents 45% of Spain's population.
  • Smartphones are the most popular platform in the country, with 38% of local gamers playing on them in 2024. Consoles followed with 37%, and PCs with 24%.
  • On average last year, Spaniards spent 8.2 hours per week gaming. For comparison, gamers in the UK played for 11.08 hours, and in Germany, for 11.53 hours.
