Nintendo's Switch 2 has achieved remarkable sales figures in the U.S., surpassing 1.1 million units during its launch week and setting a new record for gaming hardware releases.
Data from Circana, highlighted by the organization's executive director Mat Piscatella on his social media, indicates that bundles and physical purchases of Mario Kart World comprised 79% of these sales.
Piscatella also clarified that sales figures exclude transactions from the My Nintendo Store.
As of the week ending June 7, 2025, Mario Kart World led game sales for the Switch 2, followed closely by Cyberpunk 2077 and the updated version of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Previously, Famitsu reported that nearly one million Switch 2 units were sold in Japan, marking it as the country's largest console debut.
Nintendo confirmed that globally, the Switch 2 sold 3.5 million units in just four days, setting a new company record.
The company has projected sales reaching 15 million units by March 2026. Moreover, Ampere Analysis forecasts that over 13 million players will purchase the console during its launch year.
