In the first quarter, revenue for NetEase's gaming division increased by 12.1%, reaching $3.3 billion

NetEase has released its financial statements for Q1 2025, showcasing a 12.1% increase in the gaming division, reaching RMB 24 billion (approximately $3.3 billion).
The company's total revenue saw a year-on-year increase of 7.4%, amounting to RMB 28.8 billion ($4 billion), with profits rising by 8.6% to RMB 18.5 billion ($2.5 billion) over the same period.
This growth in the gaming sector was largely driven by online games, accounting for about 97.5% of the division's income, up from 95.2% in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
The impressive performance of Everstone Studio's Where Winds Meet, launched last December, contributed significantly, surpassing 30 million players as of March 2025.
Additionally, the sustained popularity of titles like Identity 5 and Marvel Rivals, and the successful mobile release of Once Human, were highlighted.
William Ding, CEO of NetEase, remarked, "We began 2025 with strong momentum, driven by our commitment to innovation. Our new titles expand our presence across different genres and engage players globally."
He further noted the ongoing success of NetEase's established franchises, emphasizing the role of continual content updates and gameplay improvements in enhancing player experiences.
Ding concluded by stating, "As we explore new gaming possibilities, we stay committed to innovation and long-term strategies, collaborating with creative talent and strategic partners to offer captivating experiences worldwide."
