"The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered" led US game sales in April 2025 according to Circana, earning the spot as the third highest-selling title for the year. In contrast, overall video game spending on software, hardware, and accessories declined by 2%, 8%, and 2%, respectively, compared to the previous year.

Remarkably, this remastered version outperformed the original "The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion" by surpassing its combined unit and dollar sales from the initial 15 and 14 months, respectively, of its market presence.

Circana's Mat Piscatella revealed that after launching on PS5, "Forza Horizon 5" secured the second spot, while "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle," another PS5 release this month, ranked third. Microsoft's dominance was evident, holding top positions in the PlayStation market with four out of five, and five out of seven of the best-sellers.

Regarding engagement metrics, "Call of Duty HQ" had the highest count of active monthly users. Yet, it was "Schedule 1" that led active users on Steam in April. The titles "Monopoly Go!", "Royal Match", and "Candy Crush Saga" dominated consumer spending in mobile gaming.

Hardware revenues decreased to $186 million, marking an 8% fall from the last year and the lowest total since July 2020. While PlayStation 5 and Switch witnessed declines, notably a 37% drop for Switch, Xbox Series sales experienced an 8% increase. Accessory spending also declined by 2% from the previous year.

In the mobile gaming sector, Lexi Wei from Sensor Tower noted a decline in the US market for April 2025 compared to March, but maintained strong performances from several leading games. "Gossip Harbor: Merge & Story" notable climbed five ranks, fueled by a 9.8% rise in consumer spending following the Easter Jamboree event on April 10, which offered new decor and gameplay features.
