Another record-breaking year and growth in game sales - key takeaways from Capcom's report

Throughout most of the last fiscal year, Capcom reported declining revenues, but its conclusion was exceptionally successful for the company. So much so, that it was able to set new records for annual sales and profits once again.

  • In the latest report, Capcom revealed that net sales for the fiscal year, which lasted from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, reached a record 169.6 billion yen ($1.15 billion). They were 11.3% lower the previous year.
  • Net profit increased by 11.7% to a record 48.45 billion yen ($327 million).
  • Operating profit reached 65.7 billion yen ($448 million) for the first time in the company's history, representing a 15.2% increase compared to the previous year.
  • According to Capcom, operating profit has been rising for 12 consecutive years, with over 10% growth annually during the last decade.

  • The main growth driver was Monster Hunter Wilds. Other Monster Hunter series games and hits from the Resident Evil series also helped set records.
  • During the fiscal year, Capcom sold 51.87 million game copies. This is also a new record. Compared to the previous year, game sales increased by 5.98 million copies.
  • 90.1% of the games were sold digitally—54.4% on PC and 35.7% on consoles.
  • The main market for Capcom is North America, where it sold 29.8% of the game copies. Next is Asia (excluding Japan) at 21.6%. Europe ranked third with a share of 18.6%. Japan accounted for 16.2% of the game copies sold.
  • In Russia, Capcom sold more than a thousand but less than 100,000 game copies during the fiscal year.

In the current fiscal year, which will end on March 31, 2026, Capcom plans to set new records. Specifically, it aims for net sales of 190 billion yen ($1.28 billion) and a net profit of 51 billion yen ($345 million). The planned annual distribution of games is set to reach 54 million copies sold.
