In the first quarter of 2025, Warner Bros. reported a 48% decrease in their games revenue

Warner Bros has disclosed its financial performance for the quarter ending March 31, 2025, which revealed a 48% decline in gaming revenue compared to the same period in the prior year.
Specific figures for gaming within the Studios segment were not released, but the decrease was attributed to last year’s underperformance of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which did not meet expectations.
The drop was also due to the absence of new game releases in that quarter.
Warner Bros mentioned that games like Hogwarts Legacy and Mortal Kombat 1 continue to generate income. Additionally, A Minecraft Movie has achieved near $900 million in global ticket sales, exceeding $550 million within ten days of release.
The overall revenue for the Studios division decreased by 16% to $2.3 billion compared to the previous year.
For the entirety of Warner Bros, the revenue for the first quarter of 2025 amounted to $9 billion, marking a 9% drop year-over-year.
Earlier in February, following their FY2024 results, Warner Bros discussed its restructuring efforts which led to shuttering Monolith Productions, Player First Games, and Warner Bros San Diego.
The company described the year 2024 as disappointing for its gaming division and stated that the restructuring was intended to concentrate resources and investment on successful franchises and projects from high-caliber studios.
The focus for their gaming business will be on four major franchises, each having surpassed $1 billion in consumer spending: Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Mortal Kombat, and DC, emphasizing prominent characters such as Batman.
