Revenue from Warner Bros.' gaming division fell by half in the first quarter of 2025
Warner Bros. Discovery also recently released its financial report for the first quarter of 2025. Among other things, it mentioned that its gaming division earned 48% less than the same period last year.
The exact revenue generated by Warner Bros. Games was not disclosed in the report.
According to the company, the decline in gaming revenue is attributed to the absence of major releases. Additionally, Warner Bros. Games continued to be affected by last year’s failure of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
The company also noted that gaming content expenditures decreased by 66% from January to March 2025, though they did not reveal the specific amount.
Previously, Warner Bros. Discovery reported that 2024 was disappointing for its gaming division, which lost $384 million over the year. To address the situation, in February 2025, the company closed three studios: Monolith Productions, Player First Games, and Warner Bros. San Diego. During the same period, it reiterated its focus on developing games for key franchises such as Harry Potter and DC.
