Revenue dropped by 22%, but losses were reduced by more than threefold — key points from tinyBuild's annual report
TinyBuild reported its financial results for 2024. Below are the key points from the financial report.
DUCKSIDE
- Compared to 2023, tinyBuild's revenue fell by 22%, amounting to $34.7 million.
- The share of the company’s revenue from its own IP increased from 66% to 77% over the year.
- Games released in 2024 contributed 13% of tinyBuild's revenue. Among the most successful new releases were the duck survival game DUCKSIDE and the planet drilling game Drill Core.
- The shooter Deadside also performed well, with its full release on PC in December 2024. In February 2025, after the reporting period, the title was also released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series — it is known that its audience grew by 400,000 people in one month.
- However, the role-playing game Broken Roads and the PvP horror Level Zero: Extraction did not meet expectations.
- TinyBuild also noted that nearly half of its income was generated by just five games, though their names were not disclosed.
- Four upcoming tinyBuild games are currently among the top 150 most wished-for projects on Steam. These include Kingmakers (15th place), Sand (40th place), Streets of Rogue 2 (57th place), and FEROCIOUS (135th place). Lower in the list are The King is Watching (171st place), ALL WILL FALL (202nd place), and Of Ash and Steel (433rd place).
- TinyBuild's operating losses significantly decreased over the year. While they exceeded $63.7 million in 2023, they amounted to $20.37 million in 2024.
- As of December 31, 2024, tinyBuild had $3.08 million in its account — $412,000 more than at the end of 2023.
“In 2024, we made changes to our strategy and focused on cash generation. We made a number of tough decisions that allowed us to selectively invest in games with high potential. TinyBuild will only be successful if it continues to create and expand new IP, even as the entire industry decelerates,” added tinyBuild CEO Alex Nichiporchik.
