Tencent's portfolio already includes 14 "evergreen" games, and in the future, Path of Exile 2 could join their ranks — a key point from the company's annual report
Last week, the Chinese giant Tencent published its financial report for 2024. The company announced that its revenues continued to grow, with more truly successful games in its portfolio.

Key Findings from the Report:
- In 2024, Tencent earned 660.3 billion yuan ($91.9 billion), an 8% increase compared to 2023;
- The company's gross profit increased by 19% to 349.2 billion yuan ($48.6 billion). Operating profit jumped by 24% to 237.8 billion yuan ($33.1 billion);
- The share of games in Tencent's annual revenue was 30%, bringing in 197.7 billion yuan ($27.3 billion);
How Tencent's quarterly and annual revenue was distributed by segments in 2022-2024
- Game sales in China totaled 139.7 billion yuan ($19.3 billion), a 10% year-on-year increase;
- International market game sales amounted to 58 billion yuan ($8 billion), reflecting a 9% year-on-year increase;
- In 2024, Tencent's portfolio included 14 "evergreen" games. In 2023, there were 12. Tencent classifies a project as "evergreen" if it earns more than 4 billion yuan ($552 million) per year, with an average DAU (daily active users) of 2 million on PC or 5 million on mobile devices during a quarter;
- The names of the new "evergreen" hits were not disclosed by Tencent. However, it is possible to speculate that one of them is Dungeon & Fighter Mobile. According to analyst estimates, in 2024, the game generated almost $2.5 billion in China alone;
- Tencent reiterated its expectation that Delta Force will be part of the "evergreen" lineup in the future. In the fourth quarter of 2024 alone, the shooter earned more than 1 billion yuan ($138 million);
- Tencent also highlighted the significant potential of Path of Exile 2, suggesting it might be added to this list later. Its current earnings are not disclosed.
