NetEase Annual Report: Games Generated $11.5 Billion, Where Winds Meet Audience Exceeded 15 Million People
The Chinese company NetEase reported its 2024 financial results, noting an increase in gaming revenue and highlighting the success of several titles, including the action RPG Where Winds Meet.

- Last year, NetEase achieved nearly the same net profit as in 2023, amounting to 29.7 billion yuan ($4.1 billion), which is just a 1% year-over-year increase.

- Mobile games generated 72.7% of gaming revenue. In 2023, their share was 75.2%. According to NetEase, this decrease comes from the rising revenues of PC games like Naraka: Bladepoint and licensed titles.

- The audience for Marvel Rivals surpassed 40 million players.
- More than 15 million people have played Where Winds Meet. As a reminder, this action RPG is currently only available in China. It was released for PC on December 27, 2024, and on mobile devices on January 9, 2025.
- The mobile game Justice continues to be popular. While NetEase did not specify its results for 2024, they noted that in January 2025, it topped the list of most downloaded games on the App Store in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. Additionally, Justice secured the top spot on the January revenue chart in Taiwan's App Store.
- Last year, NetEase resumed its partnership with Blizzard Entertainment and began publishing the company’s games in China once again. It is reported that World of Warcraft and Hearthstone still "inspire enthusiasm" among Chinese players. Furthermore, on February 19, 2025, Overwatch 2 returned to China and was well-received.
- Currently, NetEase's pipeline includes games such as the hero shooter FragPunk, Destiny: Rising (the mobile version of a game by Bungie), and the mobile tactical RPG MARVEL Mystic Mayhem.
