In 2024, the revenue of the PAYDAY developers dropped by 3.4 times, according to the Starbreeze report

Starbreeze has reported its financial results for 2024. The developers of PAYDAY announced a significant drop in revenue and substantial losses, while their income from publishing games by third-party studios significantly increased.

  • Last year, Starbreeze generated revenue of SEK 185.9 million ($17.35 million). This amount decreased by 3.4 times compared to 2023;
  • The company attributed the decline to the absence of major internal releases in 2024, while in 2023, it released PAYDAY 3;

  • In 2024, PAYDAY 3 earned SEK 82.9 million ($7.74 million), which is 82.6% less relative to 2023. PAYDAY 2's revenue was nearly half lower—amounting to SEK 41.8 million ($3.9 million), dropping by 70%;
  • Games published by Starbreeze from third-party studios generated SEK 47.7 million ($4.45 million), an increase of 220.1% compared to the previous year. Since 2022, Starbreeze has published three games—Roboquest, The Tribe Must Survive, and Turtle vs Turtle. Out of Sight is also expected to be released later;
  • Starbreeze's annual net losses amounted to SEK 199.3 million ($18.6 million). In 2023, the developers of PAYDAY reported a profit of SEK 207.6 million ($19.38 million);
  • In December 2024, the monthly active audience in Starbreeze games exceeded 546.5 thousand people;
