  • Net profit fell by 41.9% to 237.1 billion yen ($1.53 billion). Operating profit dropped by 46.7% to 247.5 billion yen ($1.6 billion).
  • In the nine months, Nintendo sold 9.54 million Nintendo Switch consoles, 30.6% less than the previous year. Total sales of the console since its release reached 150.86 million units.
  • Game sales for April-December 2024 totaled 123.98 million copies—a 24.4% year-on-year decline.
  • Specifically, Nintendo reported that sales of Super Mario Party Jamboree, released on October 17, 2024, totaled 6.17 million copies. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, another newcomer from last fall, sold 3.91 million copies.

Due to declining revenues, the Japanese company has revised its financial forecast for the full fiscal year ending March 31, 2025, for the second time. It now expects net sales of 1.19 trillion yen ($7.6 billion) instead of 1.28 trillion yen ($8.2 billion). The company anticipates operating profit to be 280 billion yen ($1.8 billion) rather than 360 billion yen ($2.3 billion).

Additionally, Nintendo lowered its sales forecast for the Nintendo Switch. Initially hoping to sell 12.5 million consoles for the year, it now expects to sell 11 million consoles. The forecast for the number of games sold for the year has been reduced from 160 million copies to 150 million copies.
