Kindle Fire HD sales have started
Earlier than the announced deadline (November 20), Amazon began shipping the Kindle Fire HD tablet with an 8.9-inch screen.
The main advantage of the novelty is a large HD screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200, pixel density of 254 pieces per inch. The device runs on a dual-core OMAP 4470 processor with a clock speed of 1.5 GHz and is equipped with 1 GB of RAM.
According to Amazon, thanks to the dual antenna and support for MIMO technology, the device has very “fast” Wi-Fi. The tablet is based on a modified Android 4.0. But at the same time, users of the device have the opportunity to download applications only from the company’s own store – Amazon Appstore.
Recall that on the new line of tablets (the seven-inch Kindle Fire HD model has been on sale since September), advertising is constantly being shown, due to this, Amazon was able to reduce the cost of the device to a minimum.
In the US, the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 with 16 GB of memory costs $299, with 32 GB – $369. The device with LTE network support will go on sale in a week. Its cost will be $499 and $599 for the 32-gigabyte and 64-gigabyte versions, respectively.
You can opt out of advertising by paying an additional $15.
Officially, the tablet, unlike Europe, will not be delivered to Russia.
