Take-Two Interactive reports "strong results" with a Q2 2025 net bookings increase to $1.47 billion
Take-Two Interactive reports another successful quarter, with net bookings rising 2% to reach $1.47 billion, adhering to the higher end of its projected range.
The company surpassed expectations with both Grand Theft Auto Online and Grand Theft Auto 5, which has sold 205 million units worldwide so far. The GTA+ subscription service also saw a 35% growth in subscriptions year-over-year following the addition of Bully to its game library.
The numbers
For the quarter ending September 30, 2024:
- Net revenue: $1.35 billion (a 4% increase from the previous year)
- Net loss: £365.5 million (a 39% decrease from the previous year)
- Total net bookings: $1.47 billion (a 2% rise)
The highlights
Take-Two Interactive has reiterated its net bookings forecast for 2025, ranging from $5.55 to $5.65 billion. The company is optimistic about seeing sequential gains and breaking records in net bookings for the fiscal years 2026 and 2027.
Recurrent consumer spending (RCS) net bookings increased by 6%, making up 81% of all net bookings. Among the top performers in this category are NBA 2K25, NBA 2K24, Grand Theft Auto Online, Grand Theft Auto V, Toon Blast, Match Factory!, Empires & Puzzles, Words With Friends, Red Dead Redemption 2, Red Dead Online, and Toy Blast.
Recent game releases from July to September 2024 include Game of Thrones: Legends, NBA 2K25, and Red Dead Redemption for PC.
Future titles such as Sid Meier's Civilization 7, WWE 2K25, Grand Theft Auto 6, Borderlands 4, Mafia: The Old Country, CSR Racing 3, and Judas have been announced. Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled for release in the "fall of calendar 2026."
"As we anticipate the future, we believe Take-Two is incredibly well-positioned for long-term success. Our strategy is well-defined, our talent unmatched, and we possess one of the industry's most robust portfolios of owned intellectual property," CEO Strauss Zelnick stated.
"With numerous exciting new releases in Fiscal 2026, including Grand Theft Auto VI in the fall, as well as Borderlands 4 and Mafia: The Old Country, we foresee delivering sustained value to our shareholders," he added.
Additionally, Take-Two Interactive announced the sale of Private Division for an undisclosed amount, as the company shifts its focus away from smaller indie projects to larger-scale ventures.
