Despite experiencing another quarter of noteworthy performance, Take-Two Interactive saw its net bookings rise by 2% to reach $1.47 billion, hitting the upper range of its projected target.

The performances of both Grand Theft Auto Online and Grand Theft Auto 5 exceeded expectations, with the latter achieving sales of 205 million units globally. An increase of 35% in the GTA+ subscription service membership was noted year-over-year, following the addition of Bully to its game lineup.

The numbers

For the quarter ending September 30, 2024:

  • Net revenue: $1.35 billion (a 4% rise from the previous year)
  • Net loss: $365.5 million (a 39% decrease from the previous year)
  • Total net bookings: $1.47 billion (an increase of 2%)

The highlights

Take-Two Interactive reaffirmed its net bookings forecast for 2025, ranging from $5.55 to $5.65 billion, anticipating continued growth with record-breaking net bookings in the 2026 and 2027 fiscal years.

Recurrent consumer spending (RCS) increased by 6%, constituting 81% of total net bookings. Key drivers of RCS included titles such as NBA 2K25 and NBA 2K24, Grand Theft Auto Online, Grand Theft Auto V, and games like Toon Blast, Match Factory!, Empires & Puzzles, Words With Friends, Red Dead Redemption 2, Red Dead Online, and Toy Blast.

The company released several titles between July and September 2024, including Game of Thrones: Legends, NBA 2K25, and Red Dead Redemption for PC.

Upcoming releases like Sid Meier's Civilization 7, WWE 2K25, Grand Theft Auto 6, Borderlands 4, Mafia: The Old Country, CSR Racing 3, and Judas were mentioned, with GTA 6 anticipated in "fall 2025."

"Looking forward, we strongly believe in our positioning for the future. Our direction is precise, with exceptional talent and a robust collection of owned intellectual property," stated CEO Strauss Zelnick.

He added that with numerous exciting titles slated for Fiscal 2026, including Grand Theft Auto VI, Borderlands 4, and Mafia: The Old Country, the company anticipates delivering enhanced value for its shareholders.

Take-Two Interactive also confirmed the divestment of Private Division for an undisclosed amount, moving away from the indie-focused publishing sector to concentrate on larger initiatives.

A prior version mistakenly listed GTA 6 for "fall 2026." This has been amended to Fall 2025.
