Paradox Interactive's operating profit increased by 67% in the third quarter
The Swedish company Paradox Interactive shared its financial results for the third quarter of 2024. Below are the key figures from the report.
Crusader Kings III: Roads to Power
- Revenue for Paradox Interactive increased by 2% compared to last year, amounting to 434 million Swedish kronor ($40.5 million).
- The company’s operating profit also saw a rise—by 67% to 142.8 million Swedish kronor ($13.3 million).
- Traditionally, the main portion of Paradox's revenue came from the U.S., totaling 337.2 million Swedish kronor ($31.5 million). In Sweden, the company earned 14.3 million Swedish kronor ($1.34 million).
- The distribution of revenue across platforms remained unchanged: PC games accounted for 87.5% of the total revenue, followed by console games (8.8%), and mobile games (2.8%), respectively.
- The highest-grossing titles of the third quarter were Cities: Skylines, Cities: Skylines II, Hearts of Iron IV, Stellaris, and Crusader Kings III. For the latter, a successful expansion, Roads to Power, was released during this period.
- According to CEO Fredrik Wester, the company is currently focused on strengthening its publishing business and reassessing its work with external studios.
- This decision has notably affected Prison Architect 2—its release has been postponed indefinitely.
